What is AGS?
Curious about the UN’s favorite anime girl elimination game? Look no further.
So what exactly is the Anime Girl Smackdown?
The Anime Girl Smackdown (AGS) is an elimination game between me and 7 friends. Every season, we pit girl vs. girl, tournament style, until 1 girl remains. We bounce between themes and IPs each season, voting on the girls we think should win.
What’s the criteria for voting?
That's the great part about AGS: there is none! You vote for whichever girl you want for whatever reason you want.
Looks cool? Cast your vote. Great description? Vote for em! 'Cause both girls suck but you need to vote for one? Happens all the time. Vote!
Where is AGS hosted?
Like all great things these days, AGS is hosted on the internet.
Challonge is the site we use to bracket and organize the seasons. Voting is done in a private channel on Telegram.
If you're interested in seeing the brackets for each season, they're publicly accessible on our Challonge community page.
How are the themes decided each season?
Every season has a new theme. Sometimes we'll vote for girls from a specific game (Genshin), girls from an entire game series (Persona), or mix it up with only the hottest, real-life anime girls (Black Sails).
One of our wonderful voters will pick the theme, organize the contestants & brackets, and be the MC for the season. Any one of us may suggest and build a season.
What happens when there’s a tie?
We have a 9th participant that will come in solely to issue divine justice in the form of a tie-breaking vote.

So y’all are just voting on JPEGs for fun?
No, they’re .pngs.
How do I participate?
You do not.
