August’s Haul
Toys! Now in my possession.
A freshly constructed, rough-finished, and wholly unpainted Buster Doll Gunner.
New work desk! More model kits! Back to painting!
What a month.
Nendoroid
Ninomae Ina’Nis in her cute lil chibi form!
Preordered this direct from the Good Smile store. This is the DX version of Ina (which was only available through said shop). The DX monikor gives her...
Tentacles! Proper(ish), physical, purple, Louis Vuitton tentacles. This is the bonus for getting the DX version. No question when picking up your own Ina Nendo. She needs them slappers.
S.H. Figuarts
I mentioned in last month’s post that I've been getting into Love Live. Still goin. Here's Eli.
Picked her up for a a wallet-clenching $8. Brand new in box! I doubt I'll find the rest of μ's for that cheap, but with patience and persistence, I'll get them all eventually.
Kotori came home early August (and was even featured in the last haul post but now I finally have the 3 amigos, together in love and song.
Umi and Honoka have arrived and now my START:DASH lineup is complete! Posed on a Snail Shell stand that's currently acting as an impromptu stage, they all look great together!
POP UP PARADE
She looks familiar.
Taller, tho.
POP UP PARADE Ina!
In addition to adding this Lovecraftian horror to my Nendo collection, my PUP collection grew at the same rate this month. Good Smile really missed on this one by omitting her tentacles. Lazy fucks.
Sentinel 4INCHNEL
Ishtar (archer) and her Maanna.
I've had my eye on this figure for many years. Yahoo Auctions has come in clutch, yet again.
With her Maanna deployed, this is a massive set, requiring roughly a 12"x12" spot for display.
Sadly, the most disappointing part of the set is Ishtar, herself. 1/18 scale does not fit in well with the rest of my collection. I realize Rin-face fans can't really be beggars and choosers but I'd love to see an Ishtar figma or similar in my lifetime.
The sculpt and paint on this are fan-frickin-tastic.
Model Kits
A 3rd Buster Doll!
Tank is here and ready to... sit in her box for a few months, waiting patiently.
BD24, Tank, is my new favorite design out of the 4 released Dolls. I'm making good progress on BD22, Gunner (see below) and once she's finished, Tanky here is only 2 kits away. Hold tight my Foxian Warrior. I will build you.
Two sets of custom water slides, made specifically for the Buster Dolls. Each Doll came with a few empty faceplates. These sheets will allow me to make some fun, unique faces for both Knight and Tank. I need those gold eyes for a separate project, too. One I have not started. I have nothing to share yet.
Buster Dolls a-plenty! With Paladin on the horizon (read: will be featured in next month's haul post), I have a lot of doll bustin' to get around to.
I recently finished building, sanding, and have begun painting BD22, Gunner. Take a look:
Give her head pats
Armored up and ready (to be disassembled and painted).
Base body. built and unaltered.
Finished her hair earlier today. Base body will be left unpainted.
Stock hair. Not great lighting here but you can see how the hair was very plasticky looking. Almost as if it were made of plastic. Odd!
Gunner's hair is the first part of this kit that's been painted and sealed. I have her armor primed and painted; working on the fine details now. I should be able to finish this one within a week. Hopefully.
If I ever write another review, maybe I'll do one on Ishtar.
Don't get your hopes up.
The model kit backlog has priority. I will finish my Buster Dolls in a timely fashion. I must.
In order to help me in my model creation endeavors, I've set up a second desk! Gone are the days of building in the basement. Here are the ground-level-nights of catching up on my little youtubes and sanding limbs. Enjoy this limited, exclusive photo of my new work station:
Back to work. See you later.
Wait!
I forgot Christmas Miku (2022)!
Oh well, it's too early for this shit anyways.
