September’s Haul
…stinky
A (not) freshly constructed, (not) rough-finished, and wholly (not) unpainted Buster Doll Gunner. Decent progress since last month.
Fun variety of types of scales. BBTS’s Pile of Loot strikes again.
Nendoroid
Jumping off with Asuka!
Nendoroid #1202. Reissue. I collect any Asukas and/or EVA-02s I can find for a good price. Reissuing this Nendo gave me a fine addition to the Angry Girl/Red Robot collection.
#2347: Hololive’s Sakamata Chloe! Stinky! Preordered this on day 1. Gen 6 Holomems are pretty peak; how can one resist. Especially when it’s the face of Nissin Choco Flakes!
Didn’t I just say Gen 6 is poggers. Look no further than #2301 Hakui Koyori. She’s the most watched member of her generation. Stamina/endurance streams a plenty. Collabs on/off. Super Chat leader. Cute lil music videos, too.
My current Hololive Nendoroid collection as of early October 2024. Still missing some older releases; Matsuri, Shion, Subaru, etc. Not in any rush to pick them up, will wait until I find good deals on them.
Model Kits
Kotobukiya Megami Device Buster Doll Paladin
A 4th Buster Doll in the house! She’s claimed the throne atop Backlog Hill.
I’m excited to eventually get to this one. Gunner is done. Knight is in progress. Tank after that and then Paladin will be unleashed upon the world.
Big sucker for the translucent red parts. Cute hair. Stupid head adornment thing. I like her design, I don’t love it. I believe in Tank supremacy.
Kotobukikya Sousai Shojo Teien Emma Koishikawa (St. Iris Gakuen Girls’ High School Summer Clothes)
I mentioned having this figure on preorder the other month and I’m happy to say she’s finally arrived! Emma is SST’s new petite model kit, featuring the St. Iris summer outfit; she’ll fit in very well with my Ritsuka Saeki kit. With 3 unique hair styles, 4 different bangs, another 4 faceplates, 2 skirt options: this girl has a lot going for her. I’ll get started on this kit once I’ve finished my Buster Doll backlog.
Also scooped up Emma’s dedicated accessory set. Bonus faceplates, snacks, and other handheld goodies to allow Emma to thrive and succeed in her tiny plastic life. The shoulder angel/devil set is super cute!
figma
figma Bride: Noir version EX-047b
An older, special release to celebrate the figma 10 year anniversary back in 2019. This figure was only available Wonder Festival 2019 Winter. Found a complete version on Yahoo Auctions for under $20 USD.
She’s pretty cool looking. Dark wedding dresses are legit. Very simple stock figma body; this will be a good one for kit-bashing and simple custom figures.
Her lower half is one huge, unmovable chunk of plastic. She’ll never fall over, at least.
figma 618 Hololive Gawr Gura
Contrary to popular belief, Gura was not the catalyst for getting me into Hololive. That honor goes to Minato Aqua and the rest of NEGI☆U. o7 Aqua. Rest easy, old girl.
Garr Goomba is the most subscribed to VTuber in the world. The first to ever hit 4M subscribers. Holo’s cash cow. Stinkmeister doesn’t even have to stream on a regular basis anymore.
I preordered this lil pizza-lover when she went live back in October 2023, a little less than a year ago. For a figma like this, I ordered her directly through Good Smile US. I needed that preorder bonus winking faceplate.
Look at this so-called “gem of the sea”.
Cute! Good Smile’s new elbow joint system is questionable, however.
That exclusive faceplate in action!
That’s it!
No Love Live! (sadly), no idols (crying emoji), but lots of Hololive, as always.
Not a bad haul for September! This month’s pick ups are definitely quality over quantity. Here’s some fun photos I took of Goorah and Maury. I’m running out of patience for the other 3 Holo Myth figma drops.
Beyond toys and anime girls, September was pretty OK for the most part. I watched 5 more Godzilla movies. 1 Kong movie. Started a new kaiju related book series. Giant monsters are truly taking over my life nowadays.
Also, new photo set up!
Using only the most premium PVC sheets and small battery powered lights, I’ve created a new photobox!
My dear friend [redacted] has been showing me how to use the “pro mode” on my camera. Adjusting ISO, manual focus, balancing my whites. It’s hard work, trying to teach an old dog new tricks, but I think I’m learning a small bit about photography as a whole.
