Neverlia

Speedran this over the weekend.

This is the second 30 Minute Sisters model kit I've ever bought and assembled.

After making the iM@S body the other month, I felt like I needed more 30MS in my life.

I really enjoyed building Neverlia, and I had lots of fun painting her. I challenged myself with this build. My goal was to use only an airbrush and do no painting by hand.

I think this project came out a smashing success!

Lord I have such a soft spot for demons, succubi, devil girls, etc. There is no way a person as weak as I could resist picking up this kit.

It's an Umphrey's kind of evening here in buildtown.

Heady

Single sharp tooth is my kryptonite.

Absolutely obsessed with this chibi Neverlia leading me through the instructions.

We puttin trailer hitches in our bitches.

Sanding and assembly is a breeze with these 30MS kits. Love em for that.

My bare skin! How lewd.

Neverlia digs the jams

belly: added

Everyday she looks more and more human.

Huge growth potential

Still no hands, no legs, but she's becoming whole slowly and surely.

A little unsteady

With the power of Bayliss, Neverlia is nearing completion.

Why can't I hold all these limes hands?

She is built!

Even without paint, Neverlia is a super fun figure. If you just like to build and hate painting, the 30 Minute Sisters line is worth your time and energy.

Our subject has been built.

Prepare for disassembly.

Constantly upgrading my stick holders. Figure is disassembled, washed, mounted, and ready to be primed.

Whoever recommended using cardboard slats: thank you.

I used every clip I own (54) plus a few dozen toothpicks. There were a TON of parts to paint.

Let the priming commence!

My primer has been laying better and better. I think I'm improving.

A little cluttered, but all primed and curing!

Base coats of paint. This red is 1 of 3 custom colors I mixed for Neverlia.

I really like this metallic blue. I'll be forever trying to shoehorn it into every kit I paint.

The 2nd custom color. Metallic, pearly whites are my jam frfr

Almost every part had convenient places to clip. I feel like Bandai really had consumers in mind while creating some of these kits.

I kept the light purple pieces pretty close to their original colors but chose to paint it regardless. This is the 3rd and final custom color I mixed for Neverlia.

Labeled as 'metallic black', this paint dried more gunmetal than black. Didn't bother me enough to repaint. I kinda dig it; happy lil accidents and all that.

After some clear coat, here's the first few parts I fit back together!

Right chuffed with the results here. The mix of gloss and matte finishes looks fantastic.

(nearly) Full body for your viewing pleasure. This may be the cleanest kit I've ever painted.

My first attempt at sanding and painting joints. Very happy with the results.

Time will tell if I sanded enough away on these knee joints. I'm hoping the paint and finish will stay indefinitely.

Test fitting the head. I had to redo the crown a few times but this is my custom Neverlia: completed!

As I mentioned in the intro, my goal here was to paint an entire kit using only an airbrush.

Take a look at how she turned out:

Bandai 30MS 30 Minutes Sisters SIS-D00 Neverlia custom painted model kit action figure complete finished 17

Neverlia!

Started and finished over the course of only 3 days. A new record.

I truly think this is one of (if not the) cleanest paintjobs I've ever done.

With an MSRP under $30 USD, the 30 Minute Sisters line is a fantastic value.

This line is great if you like quick and simple kits. Affordable, fun, and easy to customize; I'd recommend this line to any beginner or intermediate builder. The value is HERE with 30MS. What a fun project!

I feel more confident in my abilities having completed Neverlia. Next kits I work on will most likely be more Aqua Shooters!, but once those are done, I'll work on something much more complicated. That Nuke Matrix Siren set has been patiently waiting for my attention...
